Gotham Sirens

It's been long since we last published something and I strongly apologize, but we have kind of been out of the system except for Facebook.

This time I think it's time to talk about our best cosplay so far, the Gotham Sirens Trio, that we managed to pull off for our convention here in Barcelona.

We should have our own comic book!
It's been for some time now that we were trying to find cosplays for three that would actually be cool to do and one day we sat together and started talking nonsense, you know how it is, and N said that she would love to be poison Ivy, and then we said that M had to be Harley Quinn, which turned out on us saying that why not Gotham Sirens? So we did.
We must say that what an enterprise it turned out to be, lots of discussing what would be the best material, how to do certain things, etc.

M fighting with some pompons
Like the combination?
Look at those legs!!!

And some shiny purple for a classy kity!

After lots of troubles we finally managed to make the whole outfit and turned to be just great. When at the con we had a great time, people stopping to talk to us, lots of pictures, meeting old friends, some new, just amazing! We didn't get much time to see the actual con, but that doesn't mean that we didn't have the time of our lives!!

And this is our super hero!!!
Some of the best villains together!

You think you can escape us Robin?
Of course some 3DS was mandatory.
From the thousands of pics we thought it would be fun to work some of them through the photoshop and have some cool illustrations, so that is what L did. Hope you like them!! we have more in our Facebook page.

Some photosynthesis before night is here.

What do your jokery eyes see?

True Love
Again, LOTS OF THANKS FOR FOLLOWING US!!!!!

Saló del Manga de Barcelona 2012

Per fi tenim la crònica del XVIII Saló del Manga d'aquest any. Tot i que la L no ha pogut disfrutar d'aquest event ja va gaudir de la Comic Con de NY.
Dalek Dr Who - Fotografia de Mystique Raven
Van participar Ferran Adrià i Hiroyoshu Ishida a algunes conferències.

Us hi esperem, cosplayades com sempre!

GISHWHES II 2012

Ok, so here we are this year again with GISHWHES and this time the list is this one and we have five days to complete it!!!

Items

Lucky Seven: Things to remember that can help find your way to ghost hunting in Scotland!

  1. 1. Safety. There's a way to scavenge all of these items safely AND legally.
  2. 2. Commandments. Read the Commandments. Yes, again. And maybe one more time. Also, we may add or remove items and change the rules on you mid-hunt. So it is your responsibility to check the "Updates" page daily.
  3. 3. Submission Quality. Submit the best quality photos and videos. This year, our judges have been authorized to assign up to 50% more points for superior submissions. That means if you execute a 50-point item with exceptional care and thought, you could walk away with 75 points. So think about focus, lighting, background props, etc. If the picture is riveting, the judges will likely be riveted, and, well, you do the math.
  4. 4. Interpretation. Submit exactly what is asked for, not your reinterpretation of it. If we ask for a camel in the picture we don't want a drawing of a camel, or an inflatable camel. We want a real, hairy, spitting humped beast.
  5. 5. Creative Scavenging. Be creative on how you get props and materials for your items. Last year's participants proved you don't have to buy stuff. They used friends, neighbors, donations and communities. They were also surprised how complete strangers thoroughly enjoyed helping them complete items. Throw "Item Parties" and have people bring what you need. You can win cheaply simply by being clever, borrowing or begging.
  6. 6. Courage. Be courageous. You don't need money or talent to win this. All of these items can be completed simply by having the courage to ask someone. Between the 15 of you, someone somewhere has what you need or can help you get it.
  7. 7. Do it. Have fun, make friends, push your boundaries and mud wrestle with your creative side.
There are a number of items below that have the word "Hurricane" in front of them. Although they can be completed by anyone, they are designed to be completed by people who might be home-bound with no electricity for the next few days because of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast in the US. Please note, if the power outages are prolonged, we may extend the deadline for these items (and perhaps all others) past the end of the hunt. Remember, if you're on the East Coast and your authorities have told you to stay inside, FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTIONS! Do NOT go outside. Be safe and good luck!

ALL of the Items below should either be captured as "images" (which are photographs) or "videos". When you click "Submit", there will be instructions on how to submit the links to these images or videos. You should only use IMGUR, VIMEO and YOUTUBE. IMPORTANT - Unless otherwise specified, ALL VIDEOS must be 30 seconds or less!

  1. We are going to attempt to shatter the Guinness World Record for the "Most Pledges to Commit a Random Act of Kindness." The current record is 74,379 pledges held by Guinness Breweries. Let's take the throne! Your team must collect "pledges" from individuals pledging to do a Random Act. Click this link and follow instructions; don't click the submit button here. (You get 1 point for every 2 pledges - up to 350 points maximum. It's only 47 per team member, but we expect you to exceed this because this isn't all about points. Is it?)

New York comic con

OK, after a couple of weeks after NYCC, I think it's time we made a small review.

L had the chance to go to NYCC, thanks to our friend Pepe Caldelas. This year it was held as usual at the Jarvis convention center, during four days, and we had acces in on all of them. The ocupation of the exhibits was all the levels and areas, so the whole of the center was a huge fan site full of constant amusement.

If you have been following our facebook you provably have seen the pictures and the different things that have been going on. The first day was more for professionals and special badges, so it wasn't that packed, but the rest was a full river of people walking through the tight alleys and trying to look over the overpacket booths.
Artist Alley on Friday
This year there where not that many interactive sutff to do, and, as understandable, most of them demanded some sign up and different things. The whole convention was divided in four big areas:
- The main floor, where all the main booths where.
- The artist alley.
- The block: where you could find all the different alternative stuff, and a great are with arcades.
- The theaters with the panels.

Everywhere there where interesting things and fun going on, and if you didn't have enought you could watch all the cosplayeres. If we talk about the cosplayers one must point out a couple of things. The best day on my opinion to see good cosplayers was Sunday, but there was the huge Homestuck gathering on Friday and the Doctor Who on Saturday.

Homestuck

Doctor who

The whole convention was loads of fun and it's a thing I really recomend to everybody.

If you want to see the full amount of pictures, I sugest you visit our facebook page and check all the albums

T shirts is one of the things you could find more at the con!

Iron Fist

There was this contest in summer done by the clothing brand Iron Fist, where you were supposed to take a picture in Pin up style and wearing something from the brand.
So after this, L, M and N decided to take part and here is the result.

This is the published picture

Sadly, only L got her picture published, but none of us gained the prise. Actually I think they got overwhelmed about the great amount of pictures the received and didn't know how to handle it.

Future cosplay and Facebook function

So, we have M, the honorific member, that always wants us to do a cosplay directory, where we should put all the different ideas for future cosplays, so now that we have facebook we will star to do that in an album. We would like this to be complementary, so things from facebook will be shown that are not here and the opposite. But worry not! we will announce here and there what we have published, so you don't miss anything!

Here is a little list of things we would like to do:

L:

Morigan from Darkstalkers.
Catwoman.
Gabrielle from Xena.
Lucy from Fary tail.

Green lantern

N:

Hsien-ko (lei-lei) from Darkstalkers
Princess mononoke.
Poison Ivy.
Xena.
Elsa Scarlet from Fary tail.
Yoko from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Group:

Ponies human version! (this is L's idea)
Fary Tail with M as Lluvia or a stelar beeing!

We would appreciate your kindly opinion about if we should do this or that and suggestions! And sure that we can come up with more!!!
